About

A little about me, in my own words.

Hello, I'm Adam

I live in Mount Airy, North Carolina, with my wife. Mount Airy is home, and I care a lot about it and the people in it.

I'm working toward a Master of Accounting (MAC) at UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School, studying online with concentrations in Tax and in Financial Analysis & Reporting.

I also founded and run Surry for Privacy, a local campaign against Surry County's use of Flock license-plate-reader cameras. You can read more about it on the projects page.

Background

I studied General Management and Supply Chain Management at Appalachian State University, a double major, and graduated summa cum laude in December 2025. Now I'm working on a Master of Accounting at UNC Kenan-Flagler, with concentrations in Tax and in Financial Analysis & Reporting.

Most of my work so far has been in marketing and content. From September 2020 to September 2024 I was at Devour Talent, an influencer marketing agency that connected influencers with brands. I started there as General Manager and became Senior Vice President, leading a team of more than ten people across operations, marketing, sales, and client relations. I also automated a lot of the data sharing between the tools our team used, which saved everyone a good bit of copying and pasting.

In June 2020 I started 336 Mayberry, a streetwear brand selling hoodies, T-shirts, crewnecks, and more online. I kept it going until September 2022. It was short-lived and experimental, and I learned a lot from it.

From December 2020 to June 2021 I also ran 336 Gaming, an esports and gaming content org that grew to more than 70 members. We had Call of Duty, Valorant, and Fortnite teams and 30 to 40 creators and streamers, with a combined monthly social reach of over 15 million. The two projects were closely tied, and 336 Gaming sent a lot of its audience over to 336 Mayberry.

From 2015 until December 2025 I also worked as a freelance video editor, mostly editing gaming videos for creators.

These days I'm also building small things for the web, like readthebible.eth.limo. There's more on the projects page.

What I care about

  • Civil liberties and digital privacy. I think ordinary people deserve to go about their lives without being tracked by default.
  • Economic development and skilled jobs. I want good work to be available close to home.
  • Fighting poverty and keeping life affordable. I want my neighbors to be able to get ahead.
  • Education. Good schools and access to learning make a whole community stronger.
  • Faith. I'm a Christian, and my faith matters to me.

If I leave any legacy, I hope it is that I was helpful and kind.

Off the clock

Lately I've gotten hooked on how tax and government actually land on people, which is where my accounting classes and my civic work keep running into each other. When I'm not reading about that, I'm probably making espresso or baking, digging into some stretch of history, or looking at watches I don't need.

If any of this sounds like something you'd like to talk about, get in touch.
